York electric starter kit is for early swing arm frames on 1958-1964 FL models with a 4-speed kickstart transmission mount plate and a splined motor shaft in a generator type motor. *Patent Pending US 2018/0045161A1*
The rear fender and inner and outer primary covers are not included and must be modified for installation of kit. 12 volt charging system coil battery regulator and lighting is required. May require an 84 link primary chain available separately. Oval chain links are for use with nylon chain adjuster pads. *NOTE: The primary chain tensioner mounts to the 2 rear motor mounts. When using a stock full height Panhead oil tank it is necessary to remove the rear bracket. *NOTE: Includes stress proof reinforced transmission mount plate to support starter arrangement. The oil tank base plate supplied will allow clearance fo the starter assembly and will house a lithium battery. *NOTE for Heavy Duty: Starter is mounted to a cast steel housing so it is rigidly engages the starter ring gear on the clutch hub! *NOTE: For 4-speed rigid frame applications only. Rear fender inner and outer primary covers require cutting for installation. Fender u clamp is used in the stock position.
