From humble beginnings in 1967, JIMS® has grown into one ofthe industry leaders producing performance parts, accessories, tools,transmissions, and high-performance engines all aimed at enhancing the Harleyrider’s experience. Originally, Jim Thiessen worked as a machinist with theaerospace industry. As bikes were brought to the shop in the early days forrepairs and mechanical problems, customers would come to Jim looking for hardto find parts, or higher quality American made parts. In the mid to late 70’sJim committed 100% to V-Twin Motorcycles. Developing parts & processes arehis expertise, so naturally, he developed a reputation for precision machiningin the motorcycle industry. Starting with just a few manual mills & lathes,JIMS now occupies several buildings totaling 50,000 square feet filled with CNCmachines.

JIMS employs skilled craftsmen running an amazing collectionof high-tech machines such as CNC machining centers, lathes and inspectionequipment, with state of the art design and engineering capabilities, prototypedepartment, and testing facilities to ensure quality is the number onepriority. Our development team is a diverse, experienced, lean team thatincludes expert machinists capable of both CNC and manual machining, along withprogrammers, engineers, mechanics, project managers, and research specialists;working together with precision instruments. Process control and work ethicassure consistent and precise quality.

JIMS is familiar with critical and tight tolerances. JIMSparts are used and trusted worldwide, on a daily basis, in critical workingassemblies. A very unique talent that JIMS has under their roof is theirexperience with combustion engine development and manual transmissions. JIMShas developed several motorcycle engines and transmissions and produced theseproducts in the thousands. From ground-pounding burnouts, and high-revvingscenarios, to everyday commuting, these parts are put to the test before everbeing offered for sale.

The JIMS brand is also involved in many different forms ofracing, sponsoring some of the fastest Harley motorcycles on the planetincluding participants of the AHDRA and record holders in the BUB Speed Trialsat the Bonneville Salt Flats. The research and development team is alwayssearching for more horsepower, more reliable parts, tools, and new parts notyet available to the market and is committed to manufacturing as much as theycan ‘in house’, which, in turn, guarantees the best American quality available.
